TAIYOU NO UTA

Taiyou no Uta is a story about a girl named Amane Kaoru who has xeroderma pigmentosum, a disease where the body's ability to repair caused by UV rays is deficient, played by YUI, a Japanese singer and actress. The movie was released June 17, 2006.

Due to her disease, Amane Kaoru is only able to get out of the house at night and needs to be back inside the house before the sun rises. To pass time, she spends it playing the guitar, composing songs, sleep in the morning, and sit by her window to watch a certain boy who is waiting for his buddies. Watching this boy named Fujishiro Kouji, a surfer, became her routine everything and all the while developing feelings for the boy.

Because she can't go out in the morning she goes out at night and goes to the square by the train station to sing and play her guitar. One night, while she was playing her guitar with her cousin and bestfriend, she saw Kouji passing by. Impulsively, she chased after Kouji and bumped him then introduced herself. A few moments later, Kaoru's cousin arrived and pulled her away from Kouji. A few days later, Kouji and Kaoru met again at the bus stop. After a short conversation, Kouji promised that during the summer break he would go and watch Kaoru sing. On the promised day, Kouji fulfilled his promise but, unfortunately, someone has taken Kaoru's favorite spot in the square. Kouji suggested that she sing in another location and brought Kaoru to the city. Before singing, they went around the city then searched for a spot where she could sing. By the time Kaoru began to sing, people have crowded themselves to see and listen to her. Before going home they stopped over the road by the sea and continued talking. Not realizing the time, Kaoru panicked when she learned that the sun is about to rise. She rushed home to take cover. This was also the time that Kouji learned about Kaoru's sickness. Learning this truth, Kouji made the decision to gather money, so he can have Kaoru do a recording of her song. This was Kouji brilliant gift showing how much he cared for Kaoru.

Kaoru has given up on dreaming but with the light that Kouji brought to her life, she was able to face her disease with optimism.

Niini no Koto wo Wasurenaide

Niini no Koto wo Wasurenaide (にぃにのことを忘れないで Don't forget about Niini) is a story of a person  named Niini who, at an early age, was diagnosed with brain cancer. Niini is a very smart boy, full of dreams, and very diligent in his studies. Unfortunately, at the age of 15, he showed signs and symptoms of a disease. One night, on the night after he learned that he got in to the Highschool of his choice, he experienced blurred vision and seizure then collapsed while studying in his room. Hearing a loud thud, his mother went up to his room only to find him unconscious. He was brought to the hospital immediately and there he was told of an existing tumor in his brain. For seven years, he, along with the rest of his family, fought against the disease. There were times that he was so down and yet because of his families support he is able to pull himself back together. The story is so heart-warming and tear-jerking.

Everyone is born with a purpose. Even those that were born with diseases have purpose. It is just the matter of finding what it is.

In this movie, we will also see the challenges a mother is going through especially when she and her child's opinion do not meet, but, like most mothers, she persevered.

I really suggest that people watch this movie! So tragic and rich... This is a special drama aired on NTV on August 29, 2009 starring Nishikido Ryo. The movie is based on a true story and a Novel by Kawakami Masumi... a movie worth watching.

CAST:

Nishikido Ryo as Kawai Keisuke/Niini
Rena Tanaka as Amami Shiori
Yamada Ryosuke as Kawai Yuji
Shirakawa as Kawai Chiyo
Kuroki Hitomi as Kawai Kasumi
Jinnai Takanori as Kawai Yoichi

Personal thoughts:

Honestly, I feel for Niini. For a person so smart and capable, why was he given the disease? I, on the other hand, felt the same but not because of a disease but the limitations established due to the lack of finances. I wanted to study and get a Bachelor's degree and yet I can't. I am growing old, and I feel like I haven't reached anything. Up until now, I am still trying my hardest but to no avail. Sometimes, I ask myself, "what is my purpose here?" "why can't I be like everyone else who are able to study?" It is really frustrating. Secondly, I also see my relationship and situation with my mother. My mom and dad try so hard to meet our needs but because I feel like time is running out for me, I tend to lash at them especially with my mom. No matter how I try to stop myself, it seems that it is really hard to contain all this frustration. Like most parents, they still try to tolerate me and give me their love. I love my parents but it really bugs me that they try to comfort me with words when I know for a fact that these words are empty. The problem is me, and I really hope that i can change my attitude towards them. This movie has taught me a lot..... Thank you NTV for making this movie! SUKI DESU!

Death Note the Movie

Death Note the Movie is a two part movie having the second movie's title Death Note: The Last Name. I can't say that it is a sequel because the first movie stopped in the very middle of the story. The second movie, on the other hand, continued where the first left off and provided the conclusion.

The story of DEATH NOTE revolves around a notebook that can kill anyone at anytime so long as the person knows the name and clearly remembers the face. The story began when a teenager picked up the said notebook and started writing down criminals. As the number of death increases with the same cause of death (heart paralysis), the police becomes suspicious that someone is killing them intentionally. The killer was then named by the peopple KIRA. Due to the increase in death of criminals, the police hired the finest detective named L because they believe that even criminals have the right to live. The finest quote I picked up in the movie is, "The Law is not perfect because these were created by man who strive to be perfect but aren't". So the story proceeded and focused in the capture of KIRA and KIRA's view of justice.

One of the most attractive part of the movie is the intellectual battle of L, played by Ken'ichi Matsuyama, and Light Yagami, played by Tatsuya Fujiwara. Both characters are very smart and has their own viewpoint regarding justice. While one makes plans to deliver his idea of justice and simultaneously avoid being caught, the other accurately reads the situation and makes the right action. It's like seeing a game of chess but with real people involved. This is one factor that really drew me to this movie, the battle of wits.

Just like most books turned into a movie, differences are present. Fortunately, the movie wasn't bad, in fact, I loved it. Some of the differences are as follows:

1.) The capture of Light. Though L was able to confirm that Light is Kira, he died before he could bring Light to justice. It was his successor who captured Light, namely NEAR (with the help of MELO).
2.) The number of users of the DEATH NOTE. There were a total of five Kiras in the book but only three were introduced in the movie. This is perhaps to shorten the movie.
3.) The death of Mogi and Captain Yagami. In the book, Mogi (one of the lesser character) did bot die because he will be supplying NEAR the information about what L has done with regard to the case. On the other hand, Captain Yagami died in the book but not because of the DEATH NOTE; and even in death, he didn't know that Light is Kira.
4.) L's appearance in the university. L, in the book, did not go to the university for the sake of arresting Misa but enrolled in the university to keep an eye on Light.

Tomo Yanagishita (柳下 大)

a japanese actor and one of my ultimate favorites.
Profile:
  • Name Tomo Yanagishita
  • Japanese: 柳下大 (やなぎした とも)
  • Birthdate: June 3, 1988
  • Birthplace: Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan
  • Height: 173 cm.
  • Blood Type: O
  • Star Sign: Gemini
  • Hobbies: Skiing
  • Special skills: Break dancing
  • Jgroup: D-Boys
Tomo Yanagishita (柳下 大) is a japanese actor born on the 3rd of June, 1988. His career started when he won Watanabe Entertainment's 3rd D-Boys audition back 2006. On the same year, he won the part of Kaoru Kaidoh for Tenimyu (The Prince of Tennis Musical). For a guy, he looks so pretty. I so love him. Kawaii... The first time I saw him was in the movie entitled Takumi-kun Series: Soshite, Harukaze ni Sasayaite where he played Takumi, a shy boy with a past he keeps secret. This was the movie that I took notice of him. After, seeing him in this movie, I decided to google him and found other shows he took part in. I was so shocked when i learned that he appeared in the Detective Conan Movie. Apparently, he was one of the classmates of the main character. Immediately, I watched the Detective Conan movie again since I have a copy of it. And there he was, just a brief glimpse of his character. LOL! I didn't stop there. I then watched the Tenimyu Musical (The Prince of Tennis Musical: Progressive Match Higa feat. Rikkaidai), and i couldn't believe that he is playing that kind of a role. It was so far from his character in the Takumi-kun Movie as well as his looks never really suggested that he could play the part, but he did. In this musical was where I first saw how pretty his built is. He has pecks! Would you believe that?! LOL! In the Takumi-kun movie, he seemed flat-chested but that wasn't really the reason I watched this shows. Moving forward, as I mentioned earlier, I scanned for other shows and information about Tomochan. So I ended up watching Akai Ito (one of the best series ever!) where he played Natsu a soccer player who impregnated his girlfriend. Yes, he played that role. I am so jealous of the girl. LOL! Then I watched Ren Ai Shindan: Tsubasa no Karera where he played the role of Tsubasa. Dream Live 5 where he graduated and Dream Live 4 where I don't know what to say. Ahahaha! Oh, before I forget, I saw one of his DBOYS project, Shinsyunkakushigei, where he had to do some gymnastics. Sadly, he got into an accident during the rehearsal, but good thing that he was still able to do it. He had other shows but unfortunately I haven't found the time to watch them yet.

Anyway, he has this movie that I am looking forward to. It is called Sho no Michi. I haven't learned about what the story will be but by the trailer itself, I strongly believe that it'll be fantastic. Hope, I will be able to see it soon. There is also a tv series that he is taking part of that I haven't watched, it is called Samurai High School. Then, he also has a new movie this year, Shinsengumi PEACE MAKER. I really hope I can find the time to watch these shows.

Just for trivia, he collects necklaces and piercings. He is very fashionable and he loves to shop, a LOT! I have no access to his pure japanese blog but you can always read about him through a translated blog.

Let's support Tomochan Mina-san..... よろしくお願いしま!

    HAMAO KYOUSUKE (浜尾 京介)

    Profile:

    Name: 浜尾京介
    Name (romaji): Hamao Kyosuke
    Profession: Actor, Model
    Birthdate: 1991-Jun-25
    Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan
    Height: 173cm
    Star sign: Cancer
    Blood type: B
    Talent agency: Tani Promotion

Hamao Kyousuke (浜尾京介) is a Japanese model and actor. Of the many actors of Japan, he is one of my ultimate favorite and crush. The first time I saw him was in Takumi-kun Series: Niji-iro no Garasu (Takumi-kun Series: The Rainbow-colored glass. He played his role so nicely that he immediately caught my attention. After, watching him play his part in the movie, I searched online to find information about him. Shockingly, I learned that he was part of a series my sister and I watched, GOKUSEN 3. I didn't notice him much there because he was just playing a small role and most of the time the camera just passes by him. Then, I continued to search for further information about him, he was suppose to appear on a certain movie... I am not sure what it was but I saw the preview on youtube. I, also, discovered that he was the 4th generation Eiji Kikumaru of Tenimyu (the Prince of Tennis Musical). I really believe that he is the cutest person who played Kikumaru Eiji. Then, after seaarching through wikipedia, I learned that he has a personal blog which he updates normally at night or in the afternoon because more often than not he uses "KONBANWA" and "KONNICHIWA" as a greeting. He updates it quite often, and I make it appoint to read it. I am not really good with Kanji but I am improving because of my habitual reading of his blog. So far, I can't say much about his character because I just learned about him last year, but one thing is that he is quite fashionable and playful. He even wore one of his fan's gift to sleep. It was a costume of some character I am not quite familiar of. anyway he is one of the cutest....

    Mina-san, let's support him....  よろしくお願いしま!

His latest projects are Takumi-kun Series: Bibou no Detail, a sequel to the Takumi-kun Series, which will air in theaters on January 30, 2010. I'm so excited. TENSOU SENTAI GOSEIGER

TENSOU SENTAI GOSEIGER is the thirty-fourth installment of TOEI Company's long-running Super Sentai series. The sentai's, this time, make use of cards to access their powers and weapons. It is set to hit the airwaves one week after Samurai Sentai Shinkenger's finale on TV Asahi.

Tensou Sentai Goseiger are angels called "Gosei Angels" sent to defend the earth. And against these creatures, the Goseiger will protect the earth from. Each Goseiger has a Tensouder(their morphers). By inserting Gosei Cards where their Gosei Powers are sealed into the Tensouder, they are able to transform, unleash their power and utilize Tensou Techniques to fight evil. Aside from their Gosei Power, individually, they make use of Gosei Weapons and Gosei Blasters sidearm. Each Gosei Blaster has an interchangeable Gosei Header component that resembles their totem animal. As for the villains, no information has been released yet though we know that the army of the villains are called Machuuhei Biibi (Demon Insect Soldiers Beebi).

    CAST:
    Chiba Yudai as Arata/Gosei Red
    Rika Sato as Eri/Gosei Pink
    Hamao Kyousuke as Aguri/Gosei Black
    Mikiho Niwa as Mone/Gosei Yellow
    Kento Ono as Haido/Gosei Blue

    Personal Thoughts:

I learned about the new set of super sentai from Hamao Kyousuke's blog. Last January 1, Hamao-san was so excited to say that a new squadron will be released and he will be taking part of it. I always wanted to see Hamao-san to be part of the Super Sentai. I was quite surprised and excited when he mentioned that he will be part of a Super Sentai series. This announcement of his answered the question that was running through my mind about the role he mentioned in his earlier blogs that he has never played before. I'm quite excited for him. I wish Yanagishita-san could also be part of the Super Sentai Series.

Anyway, about the series, I am quite intrigued because this is the first time that they made used of angels (Tenshi) as the defenders of the earth. Although, it will really be unbelievable since an angel cannot be overtaken by a single demon, but that is not going to be true here because, of course, the protagonists will definitely be given a hard time before they can achieve victory, like most Super Sentai series are. Interesting thing though is that the colors of the Sentai's came back to the first set of colors I could remember from the series... RED (aka), PINK, BLACK (kuroi), Yellow (kiiro) and Blue (aoi)... Like most of the super sentai series, the zords will be animals but TOTEM animals so I am guessing it would be Wolf, Hawk, Bear and Monkey.... but I am not really certain, I am just basing it on the Totems that I see. Anyway, I am really excited about this, I just hope that they will have a good storyline for this.

Introduction of casts and characters will be on January 30 and 31, 2010 at the TOKYO DOME CITY event.

According to sources the first episode will be on the 14th of February.... I'm so excited....

    みなさんごめんなさい!
    (Mina-san Gomennasai)

It's been a while since I last made a post! Unfortunately, I was to busy to attend to this blog; however, I will do my best to make an update on the blog daily because I wish for this blog to be a good source of information about things that may interest people about Japan. For the meantime, I will be writing about Anime, Actors, Series, Song lyrics and Movies that I have personally heard, seen, and loved. Then, as time goes on, I will be making posts about Japan itself especially when I get the opportunity to fly there.
ぼくは そこえ いく (Boku wa soko e iku)!!! I will do my best! Gambattemasu!

    それじゃっ … …  またね!

    頑張りますので応援よろしくお願い致しますっ
